Modern recliners are a subject I have touched on before, but I still keep getting many questions about these type of chairs. Basically, what is the difference between a traditional and modern recliner?

Both types of recliners have many of the same features, however, a modern one will have clean and contoured lines, and have more bold and neutral colors, than a traditional one. Many people don’t feel comfortable with the looks of these newer recliners, and are more used to the traditional styles. However, this is your chance to be unique and add a conversation piece to your room. Many of these newer recliners can be the centerpiece of any room, depending on the décor.

If you have more of an open concept in your décor, then a modern recliner will be the ideal choice. No matter if you select a chair with bold colors or one with neutral colors, your other furnishings can be used to strategically accent the recliner. I have done this in my family room by using some simple vases and glass art, placed subtly around the chair.

In the end, you will find that modern recliners are much easier to match to the décor of a room than a traditional recliner.
